Many hosts talk about keeping your site online a certain percentage of time, however they make no guarantee about performance. If you are not able to utilize the processor power and RAM that we guarantee we treat it the same as if your site is down as part of our service level agreement.
By default our server plans are configured so that 1/2 of the guaranteed RAM is available for scripts and other processes running on your account. The other 1/2 is allocated to MySQL for optimizing the performance of your databases. For most customers with databases with less than 1GB of actively used data we find this is a good balance.
If the 50/50 balance is not optimal for your site you may submit a support request for it to be adjusted. We may also contact you if we believe your site would benefit from these settings being adjusted.
There are typically extra resources available on our servers. We allow you to use some of those extra resources to handle traffic spikes and other short term load increases.
If your site is consistently using large amounts of resources or the server you are on receives an unusually high load we reserve the right to reduce or remove the burst privileges on your account temporarily or permanently to ensure other users are able to utilize their guaranteed resources.
One inode is used by each file, directory or email on your account. The limit is in place to ensure the file system inode limits are not reached as well as ensuring that tasks such as backups perform optimally. We allow you to temporarily use 10% more inodes than your plan is limited to.
In our experience most sites on our servers use less than 20,000 inodes.
